Shortly before noon on March 16, searchers located 15-year-old Jaxon MacDonald of Regina deceased on an island on Madge Lake (Madge Lake is located within Duck Mountain Provincial Park).
“Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.” stated an RCMP release.

“The Kamsack RCMP wish to sincerely thank everyone involved in the search for Jaxon MacDonald and to express our deepest condolences to Jaxon’s family and friends for their heartbreaking loss,” continued the release. “The generosity of everyone who searched tirelessly and provided support was overwhelming. A search of this magnitude would not have been possible without you and you demonstrated the best of humanity in a very difficult situation. Everyone was very emotionally involved and if you find you are struggling, please ensure you seek assistance.”
Through a joint investigation between the Saskatchewan RCMP and Saskatchewan Coroners Service, pending final results of the autopsy and toxicology, preliminary indication is that no foul play is suspected in relation to Jaxon’s death.
These preliminary results have been communicated with his family and they have been kept updated with the findings.
While being mindful of the above, at this time no further public updates in relation to this investigation are anticipated at this time, concluded the release.
