A team of Joyce Maclean and Vince Broda topped the Kamsack Club 55’s 16-team two-person stick bonspiel played March 2.

This was the six annual stick person bonspiel that the club has sponsored, said Lloyd Thomas, club president.

The competition involved no sweeping between the hog lines, curlers played three-guard, which means there was no take-out until the fourth rock, and participants could sweep from the hog line into the house, Thomas explained.

“People like the way stick curling is played and everyone had a good time.”

While out-of-town teams joined as teams, Kamsack curlers’ teams were made up by draws.

The winning team earned a total of 24 points.

In second place was a team of Marj Orr and Judy Isabey with 22 points, while Jim Webster and his partner of Swan River placed third with 21 points.

Placing third and fourth, with 20 points each, were the teams of Peter Wilchar and his partner Natalie and Bruno Lemire and Kevin Sprong.
