More than a dozen students registered to take the scuba/snorkeling clinic held in Kamsack at the swimming pool on July 12.

“I think it’s a very decent turnout,” said Sheri Nikiforoff, a pool manager.

The clinic was taught by Kevin Bowes of Regina, a city police officer who has been teaching diving for 30 years.

“I offer this clinic called “Discover Scuba” all over the province,” he said, and he is no stranger to Kamsack as he has brought the clinic here in the past.

“Scuba diving is an introduction to a whole new world and is as close to feeling like you are in outer space as you can get,” he said. “Once suited up you are in a weightless environment and you have all your gear right with you.”
