On August 2, nine residents of the Kamsack and District Nursing Home (KDNH) boarded the Handibus for an outing to Broda Park to enjoy an outdoor barbecue.
“This annual outing is made possible with the help of volunteers,” said Karen Rubletz, recreation co-ordinator. “The nursing home activity workers were grateful to have Lorraine Sakundiak and Adeline Nykolaishen along as volunteer helpers.”
The residents enjoyed a barbecue meal of garlic sausage warmed over the open fire, along with a variety of salads and treats of strawberries and roasted marshmallows.
“The event was enjoyable and the weather co-operated,” said Rubletz, a prime organizer of the event, assisted by activity workers Patty Witzko and Della Pfeifer.
