A virtual graduation was held Monday in honour of the 21 members of the Class of 2020 at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute.

The theme of the graduation was a quote from the 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

The graduation program included a message from Quintin Robertson, director of education; a welcome and message from Tracy Forsythe, the principal; accolades read by Ryan Gareau, the vice-principal, and the valedictory address by Shaelyn David.

A PowerPoint presentation revealed the names of the recipients of the scholarships.

On three days last week, graduates and their parents or guardians were invited to the school where the graduates received their diplomas from Forsythe and Gareau at a special decorated archway on the lawn in front of the school. This was a private event for graduates and their immediate families only.

Working on the graduation ceremonies were Alexis McGonigal, staff members and student volunteers. The graduation mural was created by The Edge Business Solutions.

Members of the graduating class are: Ryan Bear, Josh Bielecki, Samantha Chernoff, Juanita Cote, Shaelyn David, Maison Davis, Andrew Dungen, Jordan Green, Taylen Keshane, Liam Lachambre, Nathaniel Langan, Sadie McGriskin, Breanne McLean, Ysabel Morenos, Aiden Rogers, Teagan Ruf, Brooke Schwartz, Ty Shingoose, Kade Wishnevetski, Zachary Zbeetnoff and Savannah Zielinski.
