“Wow! What a turnout,” Colleen Hunter, administrator of Eaglestone Lodge, said on October 22 prior to the serving of the meal at the second annual Girls Night Out.

Girls Night Out, which included a trade show, raffles, a supper, fashion show and drinks, is the one main fundraiser held each year in support of Eaglestone Lodge. It replaced the former Octoberfest, which for several years had raised funds for the Lodge.

“We’re honoured and delighted to see so many people here,” Hunter said, extending “a warm welcome” on behalf of the residents, board and herself.

“We thank everyone for his or her support,” she said, adding that such an event is also good therapy because “girls just want to have fun.

“A toast to all the ladies,” she said, explaining that the men would be serving the supper. “Let the fun begin.”

Prior to saying Grace, Jasmine Wizniak, an employee at the Lodge, called for “a big hand for Colleen and the volunteers.”

Members of the Fun Night committee with Hunter were: Dianne Smutt, Debbie Cuervo, Maria Nahnybida and Claire Bishop.
