Dead Levee is an old-school, no-nonsense rock 'n roll band comprised of members from various towns and cities in southern Saskatchewan.

One of it’s members, lead guitarist and vocalist Rylan “Ray” Klapatiuk, 24, was born and raised in Kamsack, and is sometimes referred to as “the boss man” because he easily assumes a leadership role in the band, according to information found on Facebook. His parents are Janet and Tracy Klapatiuk of Kamsack.

Klapatiuk admits that he writes the majority of the original lyrics and music for the band, but adds that everyone contributes.

“We exude attitude in our performances, and each member is in the spotlight during our performances,” said Klapatiuk.

Dane Von Hagen of Weyburn is the lead vocalist, Rylan Dusyk of Montmartre plays both rhythm and slide guitar, Preston Laschuk of Regina is percussion and Taylor Morgan of Regina (and formerly of Manitoba) is on bass guitar.

The band’s aggressive, organic, and attitude-driven style harkens back to the high energy outlaw rock 'n roll of the late 60's and early 70's, said a release.

Dead Levee's live show is a lively affair that offers their own take on the classic hits that have inspired their work, alongside their captivating original material. Big, bold guitar solos, rippin’ vocals, and heart-pounding drums revitalize the contagious energy of rock ‘n roll that the world fell in love with in a fresh new way.

The band, established in 2017, has been touring, writing and recording. One may find out more about it on its Facebook page, or on YouTube.

Advance tickets for the concert are available at Pheobe’s, and will be available at the door.
