A former Kamsack resident was named a cosmetic company’s manager of the year for Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Stefanie Brown of Regina, the daughter of Ronald and Barb Tetoff of Kamsack, was named the Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmaprix beautyBOUTIQUE and Cosmetic Manager of the Year during the 2016 National Cosmetics Conference in Toronto on September 17 to 19.

A total of 364 nominations had been received, recognizing 108 cosmetic managers and 98 beautyBOUTIQUE managers across Canada, and Tetoff was named one of the 12 top managers.

“It came as a surprise,” Tetoff said last week, adding that she had no advance notice of the win. “I was shocked, shaking and was holding back the tears.”

An employee with Shoppers Drug Mart for seven years, Tetoff had worked for six years in Winnipeg and the past year at the Shoppers’ Landmark store in Regina.

This was the third time that Tetoff, a manager for only eight months, has been able to attend the national conference.

“It was really a privilege and humbling,” she said.

A selection committee was comprised of representatives from national operations, store operations, and category management reviewed each nomination to select the regional and overall winners.

Winners of the award have proven to: consistently maintain high quality service to customers; embody a passion for results, leadership, and drive employee engagement; deliver expert makeup application and skincare consultations, and be a leader in demonstrating beauty trends.

During the conference, Tetoff met Michael Bublé, who having recently released a fragrance product called Invite, greeted all 1,500 cosmetic managers attending, and Davis Factor, grandson of Max Factor.
