Cote First Nation man charged with attempted murder

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at Cote First Nation on March 12. At approximately 11:36 p.m.

            A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at Cote First Nation on March 12.

            At approximately 11:36 p.m. on March 12, the Kamsack RCMP were called to a report of a severely injured male on the Cote First Nation, said a release from the police.

The injured 38-year-old male victim advised he was asleep in his own residence when the accused 22-year-old man forced his way into the residence and attacked him.

The RCMP arrested and charged Peter Randy Lincoln Stevenson, 22, in relation to the attempted murder of the 38-year-old male.

Stevenson has been charged with: attempted murder, aggravated assault and break and enter (home invasion). He was to have appeared in Provincial Court in Kamsack on March 15.

Investigational assistance was provided by Yorkton Forensic Identification Section and the Yorkton General Investigation Section, the release said.

Police are not seeking any other persons in relation to the incident, it said.
