The annual fundraiser which raises money for the graduating class’s academic ceremonies was held on October 25.

The theme for this year’s event was “Fairy Tale Fun Night” and the Grade 12 students were dressed as characters from well-known fairy tales. Everyone was invited to, “Come have a magical time.”

This was the second year for organizer Alexis McGonigal, senior English teacher at KCI (Kamsack Comprehensive Institute.)

“This is all for Grad 2019, and is the only fundraiser that is held to cover the cost of the academic ceremonies, which includes the mural and cap and gown rentals” McGonigal said. “The grads organize all the events with help from parent and teacher volunteers. There is a lot of community sponsorship to make this event a success.

“There are things for all ages to enjoy at Fun Night, and we have many families that attend and have a fun time while helping to support the grads.

The Grade 12 students who operated the various games where dressed as fairy tale characters and many of the youngsters who arrived to enjoy the fun came in colourful themed costumes.
