The Kamsack Players Drama Club has partnered with the Yorkton Paper Bag Players to bring two one-act, competition plays to the stage in Kamsack.

The plays will be performed at the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre on October 27.

Nancy Brunt of the Kamsack Players will direct Light, a one-act play by Jeni Mahoney.

I Didn’t Know You Could Cook, a one-act play by Rich Orloff, will be directed by Leanne Keys of the Yorkton Paper Bag Players. Keys is a former Kamsack resident and had been a member of the Kamsack Players Drama Club.

These two plays will again be featured onstage when the Paper Bag Players and Theatre Saskatchewan will be hosting the 29th annual short play festival, TheatreOne 2018, in Yorkton from November 8 to 10. The festival provides three nights of short plays from around the province, in competition.

“The performances on October 27 in Kamsack at the Playhouse, a licenced event, will effectively be the dress rehearsal for both clubs,” said Odaria Moline of the Kamsack Players. “But our play Light will also be performed in Roblin on October 26 at the Life and Art Centre at 2 p.m.
