At a booth called Monkey Mania, three Sereda sisters, all former Kamsack district residents, from left, Pat Muller of Saskatoon, Sylvia Jones of Saskatoon and Linda Scobie of Kamsack, sold a variety of hand-crafted dolls at the Christmas in November craft sale in Kamsack on November 19.

Organizers of the annual Christmas in November trade show in Kamsack on November 19 are calling it one of the best ever.

Held as a fundraiser for the Kamsack Playhouse, the sale of crafts and products sold by home-based businesses featured more and different types of vendors than had previously attended, said Brenda Wyllychuk, an organizer.

In total there were 240 people who wrote their names at the registration table, Wyllychuk said.

“We were really impressed,” she said. “We only heard positive comments from the customers, the vendors thanked us and said it was a success and the volunteers were great.”

About a dozen volunteers were put to work preparing the OCC Hall before the event began, cleaning it when it was over and making the three varieties of soup, two types of sandwiches and puffed wheat and popcorn cakes.

A first-time vendor who admitted to not normally enjoying the trade show atmosphere, said she was very impressed and asked the committee to make sure she is invited next year, Wyllychuk said.

Proceeds from the event have been earmarked to purchase a new popcorn machine for the theatre and will go into the kitty so that new seats and flooring can be installed in the building.
