A 25-year-old Regina male, who is already facing charges in two other homicide cases, has been charged in connection with a third case.
Dillon Ricky Whitehawk, of Regina, is charged with: first degree murder and possession of firearm or ammunition, contrary to prohibition, according to a release from the Regina Police Service.
Whitehawk, who is formerly of Cote First Nation near Kamsack, made his first court appearance on this charge, and two other first degree murder charges, on February 13.
The victim is 23-year-old Keenan Scott Toto, of Regina. In this incident, police were dispatched on Dec. 1, 2019, to the 1200 block of Queen Street. The initial reports indicated there was a male lying in the street at that location.
When police and EMS attended, they found a male, who was confirmed deceased by EMS. The patrol members on scene requested additional resources, including the Coroner, and Major Crimes and Forensic Identification members. This investigation was soon declared a homicide case. The investigation into this case, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, and supported by numerous other units in the Police Service, resulted in the arrest, on February 12, of Whitehawk, and charges being laid.
Whitehawk is also charged in connection with another homicide in Regina and the victim in this case was 27-year-old Jordan Gaiton Denton, of Regina.
This investigation began when police were dispatched to the 800 block of Robinson Street on Nov. 9, 2019. There police and EMS located an adult male, who was confirmed to be deceased.
Police secured the scene and requested the Coroner, Major Crimes and Forensic Identification members to the scene. On November 11 police confirmed the death to be a homicide and made the victim’s identity public. This investigation continued, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, culminating in the arrest, on February 12, of Whitehawk who is now charged with first degree murder and a weapons-related offence.
Whitehawk, along with 20-year-old Kurtis Clayton Thomas, of Saskatoon, are now the second and third persons to be arrested, on February 12, and charged with first degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Keesha Cree Bitternose, of Regina. Both have made their first court appearance on February 13 on this charge.
Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Cameron Street on January 5. The information, in the initial stages, indicated there was a female at that address who appeared to be deceased, and police secured the scene, requested the Coroner and began what would become a homicide investigation into the death.
An arrest was made on February 11, of twenty-six-year-old Kelly Renee Stonechild, of Regina, who was initially charged with first degree murder in the death of Bitternose. This matter is still under investigation with additional charges anticipated, and Stonechild made her first court appearance on this charge on February 12, the release concluded.
