The first set of parent-teacher interviews were held last week at the Canora Composite School and it kept the teaching staff busy after school hours.

For the elementary school students, close to 90 per cent of the parents (guardians) respond and participate in the interviews, said Kim Eiteneier, principal.

When it comes to the students from grades 8 to 12, the response rate drops considerably and about 50 per cent of the parents (guardians) participate, he said.

Parent-teacher interviews are hosted twice each school year to allow parents to have a good understanding of what is happening in the school system, said Eiteneier. The first set of interviews are held in November and the second set is held in April.
