The residents started their summer off with a beautiful piano recital by Darren Kitsch’s school and private students, which they all really enjoyed.

In June, all the dads at Eaglestone got taken out to Lam’s restaurant for breakfast to celebrate Father’s Day. That was followed by some yummy ice cream and a beautiful tour on the handi-bus. June is also the month Eaglestone holds its annual Family Summer barbecue. This year we had over 60 family members and friends come out to enjoy an evening of good food, fellowship and entertainment provided by Peter and Friends from Canora.

The month of July was also full of many exciting things! The residents had kids from St. Michael’s Camp join them to play bingo while visiting. The residents also got the chance to visit the Kamsack museum, attend a strawberry social, and visit to the nursing home for coffee. During the summer months the residents also made regular trips uptown to go shopping, for coffee and ice cream, to the lake for a drive, ice cream and a wiener roast, and to Broda Park for a wiener roast.

Eaglestone has two upcoming fundraisers you don’t want to miss. Octoberfest will be held on October 24 at the OCC Hall and Girls Night Out will be held at OCC Hall on November 7. It will be a fabulous night full of food, fashion, shopping, cocktails and laughter. So make sure you grab your tickets soon, hope to see everyone there.
