All six Kamsack minor hockey teams on ice for Minor Hockey Day

            Of the six teams, one played an inter-squad game; two won their games, and three suffered defeats.

            It was the IP (initiation program) of about 15 players which divided members into two teams to play against each other.

            “Like always, for the IP game it was a packed house,” said Mike Eliuk, president of Kamsack Minor Hockey, commenting on the cuteness of the young players.

            The novice Flyers were defeated 22-3 by the Canora Cobra Black team, Eliuk said. Scoring for Kamsack were Kealand Thomas, two goals, and Cameron Allard, one.

            The atom Flyers defeated the Cote Chiefs 12-5, he said. Scoring for the Flyers were: Levi Erhardt, six; Justus Blackwood, two; and singles by Bobby Taylor, Carter Salahub, Kealand Thomas and Kayden Vidomski.

            The Yorkton Marks Warehouse Peewee Terriers defeated the Kamsack peewees 19-3, he said. Scoring for Kamsack were Austin Krawetz, two, and Cadence Campeau, one.

            The Kamsack bantams were defeated 4-3 by the Ochapawace Thunder. Scoring for Kamsack were Nicholas Bielecki, two, and Aiden Broda, one.

            On the Preeceville midget Pats team are five Kamsack players: Taryn Broda, Austin Hilderman, Zack McGriskin, Hunter Shankowski and Noah Watson. The team defeated the Ochapowace Thunder 11-0, and seven of those goals were by two Kamsack players: Taryn Broda, who scored six goals, and Austin Hilderman, one. The other goals were by Jalen Bayer, two; Connor Nagy, one and Sean Paligan, one.

            The games began at about 9 a.m. and ended about 12 hours later, Eliuk said.
