Kamsack team tops men’s division of team golf tournament held in Canora

A two-person Kamsack team won the men’s division of a two-person team golf tournament held in Canora last week. The Canora Golf and Country Club was the host of a seniors’ (50-plus) golf tournament on August 28.

            The Canora Golf and Country Club was the host of a seniors’ (50-plus) golf tournament on August 28.

            The tournament was in a two-person scrabble and alternate shot format, including divisions for men, women and mixed.

            Golfers were from a variety of communities across the region including Canora, Kamsack, Norquay, Preeceville, Yorkton, Good Spirit Lake, Burgis Beach and Canora Beach.

            In the men’s division, the team of Darryl Binkley and Glen Sterzer of Kamsack won the championship flight, with Ken Tratch and Glen Leson coming in second.

            The first flight was won by the team of Brad Knutson and Ron Steranko. Paul and Steve Borys finished second.

In the mixed division, first place in the championship flight went to the team of Delmar and Gailene Pasiechnik, while Ambrose and Leslie Wolfe came in second.

            The team of Delmar Myrfield and Irene Heinrich won the first flight, ahead of the second-place team of Kim Grywacheski and Gerald Dennis.

            The second flight had the Darryl and Vicki Stevenson team in first-place, while Bill and Bonnie Froese came in second.

            The winner of the women’s division was the team of Maxine Stinka and Norma Hudye.
