Attending a lacrosse provincial competition in Saskatoon June 17 and 18, Ethen Krawetz, a member of the Under 16 Sturgis Trojans team, won gold after winning all three games played against teams from Saskatoon and Yorkton.

This marks about 20 times that the Trojans have won the provincial title, Krawetz said last week, adding that the team is undefeated this year. Coaches are Brad Cameron and Conrad Peterson.

Also winning gold medals were Shani Bear and Brooke Hausermann who are members of the Yorkton Fighting Pikes Under 19 team, which was comprised of Sturgis and Yorkton team members.

Ryan Bear, a member of the Yorkton Fighting Pikes Under 16 team, helped the team place third at the provincial competition.

Nicholas Bielecki, who is a member of the Yorkton Fighting Pikes Under 14 team, was too young to compete in the provincials.
