Another facilitator has begun working at the Family Resource Centre in Kamsack.

Megan Peters of Norquay began working with Andrea Verigin at the end of July. She is an early years facilitator at the Family Resource Centre which is located in Crowstand Centre.

The centre offers health and education services for families, which includes programming, Peters said last week. “We focus on the early years, from maternal health to children of about three years of age.”

Born and raised at Melfort, Peters attended the University of Saskatchewan in Regina and obtained a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology in 2013. She then worked as the assistant curator at the Melfort Museum, which is a year-round facility, and was in charge of educational programming.       In July, she moved to Norquay.

Among her interests, Peters says she loves to travel. She had led a Girl Guide unit to Mexico last year and has visited New York, Italy, France, England and Scotland.

“I love to play and teach piano, do yoga and I’ve sung in a choir.

Veregin said that the centre is now mobile, so its staff will be able to travel outside Kamsack to offer programs and, for example, will be visiting Norquay to conduct a book time program.
