As vice-president of the Norquay Legion, Donna Lulashnyk had the privilege of reciting the following: “They shall not grow old as we who are left grown old. Age shall not worry them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”

Marlene Jacquemart of the Lutheran Church did the invocation and then wreaths were placed at the indoor cenotaph.

Mary Sellers of the Roman Catholic Church said the opening prayer.

With Kathy Ostafichuk at the piano, the hymn Faith of Our Fathers was sung.

Nadia Ewachow of the Ukrainian Catholic Church said the closing prayer; Margaret McCullum of the United Church said the benediction.

The Colours were retrieved, God Save the Queen was sung and the service was over.

Following the service Wayne and Gladys Prokopchuk were available for those who had wished to pay their Legion dues.

At the noon meal, the toast to the Queen was said by Bob Abbott. Messages from the Prime Minister and the Norquay mayor were read. Roberta Taylor was the guest speaker.
