Kamsack’s flowers to bloom red and white during 2017

In honour of Canada’s 150 th anniversary in 2017, town council has decided to adopt a red-and-white colour scheme for the community’s planters and hanging flower baskets.

            In honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, town council has decided to adopt a red-and-white colour scheme for the community’s planters and hanging flower baskets.

            Council made that decision during its regular meeting of March 27, when council accepted bids for 322 Park Street West in the amount of $3,105 and for 534 Third Street in the amount of $1,500. Council declined bids for 138 Decorby Street East and 321 Miles Street.

            A bid from Ted-D’s Contracting for maintenance of the town cemetery in the amount of $21,250 was accepted.

            Jim Pollock, the fire chief, was authorized to attend the conference of the Saskatchewan Association of Fire Chiefs in Prince Albert April 26 to 30.

            Kev Sumner, the recreation director, was instructed to assist representatives of Kamsack Minor Hockey Association to complete an application for the 2018 Cameco Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

            Council gratefully accepted a donation of wooden planters located by the Broda Sportsplex.
