A woman from Cote First Nation began work as a teacher at the Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre at the beginning of the term.

Farrah Pelly was hired to teach the grades 4 and 5 classroom.

Born and raised at Cote First Nation, Pelly is the daughter of Guy Cote (Eunice Ketchemonia-Cote) and Stella Pelly (Vincent Cadotte).

After graduating from Grade 12 from the Cowesses Community Education Centre, Pelly attended the University of Saskatchewan and obtained her bachelor of education degree in 2003. Since then, she taught for two years at Cote First Nation, and then the last 10 years at Peepeekisis First Nation.

She and Michael Sanderson are the parents of three children aged three, four and 13 years.

Among her interests, Pelly said that she is “crazy addicted to beaded bling,” and is always buying more beaded items. For example, she said she owns over 100 sets of beaded earrings.
